Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Friendly staff. Great foods. My favorite choice in Sifnos so far. I ordered the beetroot salad. It's delicious. I have never seen beetroot cooked this way. It can be busy during dinner. They take reservations."
"This place was the obvious choice for supper tonight. While other restaurants in this charming town were barely half-full, this one was packed. It’s a beautiful spot with a lovely outdoor setting on a quiet corner just off the main street. The staff were warm and engaging, and the food was nothing short of fantastic—some of the best we've had in Greece. We kicked things off with the fried cheese and chili jam, which was simply delicious. Then came the goat slow-cooked in a clay pot, the perfectly presented and cooked moussaka, and the octopus—each dish as mouthwatering as the last. The goat and moussaka, in particular, made up for an earlier disappointing experience at a different restaurant. We did try the local dessert, which wasn’t really to our taste, but overall, this restaurant is a must-visit if you're in Sifnos.""
"I came here a couple years ago and will be returning soon. I had a coffee & light breakfast fare, was greeted ALL week during my stay even BEFORE I had become a patron. Was treated so gently by my server (most likely an owner) & then, a couple days later, after the most grueling heatstroke inducing hike up the back way to Profitis Iliasis monastery, I was kindly served lemonades and cold beverages even though the kitchen was closed & again was treated so tenderly by the same lovely lady. I never forget a kindness. I was even bid farewell the day I left and invited back with a wish to see me soon! Good heavens, when you’re in Greece, please realize that most of these taverna & restaurants are family places, are seasonal, and the people who work are on a 24 hour schedule for months on end. Don’t expect seating outside of dining hours, and if you’re super starving, hit up the grocery store down the way (Kritikos), and carry snacks & more fluids than you think you’ll need when hiking. (I didn’t) Sifnos is a global treasure. You are in the sweetest home you can find on this planet. I love this place because they feed you well, and they do treat you like an honored guest & friend. FOOD IS YUMMY! Coffee options, many! Don’t feed local cats, there is a feeding station across the street…"
"So delicious and cosy kafeneion and tavern in one. Friendly old lady serving quick and friendly. Authentic mezedes from Sifno. One of our besr late lunches after hiking."
"Perfect spot for traditional lunch. We got revithada, traditional lamp recipe, breetroot salad and cheese and salami pies"
"Very good food, service is slow, but friendly! High quality meat and delicious fried potatoes (fresh). In my opinion, the best choice in Artmenonas if you choose grilled meat!"
"I can't understate how welcoming and friendly the service was here. You just felt like you part of the family. The food was also delicious, which was a bonus. The purée eggplant and local fried cheese the stand outs for me. The walnut cake was sold out but maybe we try next time!"
"Lovely place recommended by our hotel. We had delicious goat, chickpea balls and Greek salad. Lots of cats. Felt very authentic. Witnessed an old man come in for a beer and they just left him alone vs insisting the table was needed for diners. Wish we’d gone back!"
